GRADUATE

The Catholic University of Temuco, develops their graduate programs responding with quality and relevance to the training needs of the scientific communities and the demands of the professional specialisation inserts in various productive sectors. The training of our graduates considered to be the comparative advantages associated to the cultural diversity and environmental present in the region and integrates the various application contexts, with a focus on the lines of research, development, innovation or creation that has been defined by the University, to propose innovative solutions that improve the quality of life of those living in the territory. The Direction of Graduate –dependent of the Vice-rector of Research and Graduate - creates the conditions that allow for the promotion and development of the postgraduate course in the framework of management processes that promote academic excellence with quality standards, to strengthen the creation of new programs, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary linked to the production of intellectual and professional specialization under the seal of the identity of the UC Temuco.

MAGISTER

 

The Masters Programmes correspond to post-graduate studies that seek to the development of skills in analytical, synthetic, abstraction and practical application. These are developed at a level of greater depth with respect to the level of training that delivers the bachelor's or professional degree and culminating with the preparation, defense and approval of a thesis and/or educational activity equivalent

The Doctoral degrees are Graduate programs leading to the highest degree awarded by a University. Include a systematic process of research or creation that culminates with the preparation, defense and approval of a thesis that extends the frontiers of knowledge in the area, or areas involved. It is characterized, mainly, by being supported by a faculty of Academics-as with lines of active research and productivity according to them. We have the following doctoral programs:

The Catholic University of Temuco, aware of the importance of the graduate training of professionals committed to the region and the country, has formalized the following scholarships:

 

Scholarship of 10% of discount on the fee –in any of our programs - for graduates-as and graduates-as of our institution.

Scholarships tariff (partial or total), for phd students and master's degree. The magister scholarships, are evaluated according to the point of equilibrium is defined for each one of them.

Scholarships maintenance (partial or total), for phd students.

All applicants to the Phd program can apply for grants of fee and scholarship support.

RESEARCH

The research at the Catholic University of Temuco is oriented to the development of scientific activities that support the processes of modernisation and upgrading of the productive structures of The Araucanía region as well as to the improvement of the levels of economic and social development of the south of Chile, considering the local characteristics, the complexity of the processes of knowledge construction subject to the conditions of the environment, the rhythms of the technology transfer, licensing and patents, and the development of enterprises of technological base.

The Core of Food Production addresses both the production plant as an animal, with an emphasis on nutrition, reproduction and health, being one of its main foci of the quality and food safety.

The Core of Environmental Studies develops scientific research in interdisciplinary environmental sciences with an emphasis in the study watershed, land use, water resources and landscape, in order to contribute to the conservation of the waters, and biodiversity in the macro zone, center and south of Chile.

The Core of Renewable Energy explores new sources of energy, with a focus on biofuels from biomass and its relationship with the environmental impact, as well as the development of new technologies for abatement of pollutants, with emphasis on the quality of the air.

 

The Core of Studies, inter-Ethnic and Intercultural mission is to strengthen the scientific capacity to study, explain and understand intercultural relations and interethnic and their practical consequences for the lives of people and their social groups.
